About Dorm Wise LLC
When our daughter moved into her dorm, we realized the challenge of maximizing dorm space while accessing everyday items from a lofted bed. Drawing on years of experience in the home-building industry, we created the Dorm Bed Cubby—a stylish, practical solution specifically designed for UNCW dorm rooms. This cubby features spacious compartments with two cutouts for charging stations. It fits neatly between the bed and the wall, keeping essentials within reach. The cubby not only solved the access issue but also created a special space for our daughter to express her decorating style and showcase meaningful items from home.
So we made it available to other students
Seeing the difference it made, we knew other UNCW students would appreciate this solution too. To make it easy, Dorm Wise delivers cubbies directly to the UNCW campus on move-in days, and we pick them up during move-out week.
We’re also offering cubby extenders for students who want to loft their bed to the highest position, creating extra space for storage or gaming.

Cubby Dimensions
The dimensions are: 80″ wide, 71″ high, shelves are 12″ high and 6″ deep. The top ledge is 80 1/2″ x 6 1/2″.
Cubby Extenders will raise the cubby unit 16” (for a total height of 87”).
The top of this bed is approximately 48″ tall (the top of the bed frame is lofted to approximately 40″ + plus the mattress and mattress topper).
Our standard height dorm bed cubby works at this height, two loft positions lower, and one loft position higher (there is an approximate 3″ difference between loft heights). To loft the bed to the higher levels, please add the Cubby Extenders to your rental order.
When arriving at our room move-in day, the UNCW bed was provided at this level with the UNCW dresser under the bed. Many students keep the dresser under the bed due to space constraints. The top of this bed is approximately 42″ tall (with the mattress and mattress topper). The dorm bed cubby can be used at this position and three lofting positions higher (there are approximately 3″ between each loft position). To loft the bed to the higher levels, please add the Cubby Extenders to your rental order.

How high can I loft my bed with the cubby?
UNCW dressers under beds are typically 29”-30” tall. The cubby accommodates lofting heights from just above the dresser to approximately 12” above it (about four lofting positions). If you plan to loft your bed higher, select the cubby extenders option at checkout.
What is the cubby extenders option?
For those who would like to loft their beds on the top few lofting positions so they can place a chair, TV, etc., under their bed, you will want to select the cubby extenders option to raise the cubby 16”.
Can I charge items in the cubby?
The cubby comes with two cutouts that have covers to allow access to charging cables. Depending on your charging needs, you might only utilize one of these cut outs. Does a charging station fit in that cutout?

How do I update my dorm assignment after I've placed my order?
